Dhaka: Businessman Aniruddha Kumar Roy returned his Gulshan residence on early Thursday after 80 days of his reported abduction, police said quoting his family members.

Managing director of RMM Group, Aniruddha Kumar Roy, who is also honorary consul general of Belarus, was allegedly abducted from Gulshan area in the city on August 27.

Contacted, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gulshan police station Abu Bakar Siddique told news agency UNB that he learnt from a nephew of Aniruddha on Saturday morning that the businessman had returned his Gulshan residence on early Thursday.

"When I contacted over phone with Kollol Hazra, a nephew of the businessman Amiruddha, Saturday morning, he told me that his uncle has returned home on early Thursday, "the OC said.

The OC, however, said, he could not talk to the businessman.

Earlier on August 27, Kallol Roy had filed a general diary with Gulshan police station on abduction of his uncle.

Aniruddha Kumar Roy was reportedly dragged on a microbus by three people, soon after he came out of a private bank in Gulshan 1 on August 27 at about 4:15pm.
