Lakshmipur: A woman was reportedly gang-raped by her former husband and his two associates at Torabganj in Kamalnagar upazila of Lakshmipur.

Officer-in-charge of Kamalnagar Police Station Akul Chandra Biswas said a case was filed with the police station early Sunday in this connection.

According to the case statement, Abul Kalam, son of Anwar Ali, resident of Torabganj, along with his two friends, forcibly picked up his ex-wife while the victim was going to Lakshmipur riding on a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Friday evening.

Later, the trio took the victim to an isolated house and raped her one after another throughout the night, beat up her and cut her hair.

Later, the victim was rescued on Saturday afternoon and admitted to Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital.

Meanwhile, police arrested Bablu, one of the accused, said the OC.

Prime accused Kalam got a divorce from her wife following family feud several months back.

On Friday, a Rajshahi university student was abducted from the campus allegedly by her ex-husband. The victim was rescued later from Dhaka.
