YouTube is one of the most popular video sharing websites in the world, with visitors watching around 6 billion hours of video every month.
Beside television, millions of users around the world can share and watch videos on the American video-sharing platform.
Considering the importance of news media in YouTube , NTV Online started its journey at Youtube and established a strong position with its resourceful channel. Meanwhile, NTV’s Youtube channel achieved several rewards for its outstanding performance.
As videos are the main content of YouTube, the YouTube authorities recognise its most popular channels by handing over YouTube Creator Rewards.
Till October 2017 NTV Online achieved two rewards from YouTube authorities. Now, NTV Online, one of the prominent online news portals of Bangladesh, got two more awards from Youtube. Two channels of NTV achieved ‘YouTube Creator Rewards’.
In May, YouTube honoured NTV by rewarding it with ‘YouTube Silver Play Button’ trophy for its channel ‘NTV Natok’. TV, as the first and only television among public and private televisions in Bangladesh, was received the prestigious reward from YouTube.
In October, YouTube honoured NTV by rewarding it with ‘YouTube Silver Play Button’ trophy for the second time to its NTV Entertainment channel. The channel has more than 100,000 subscribers.
Recently, NTV Online achieved two more Silver Play Button from Youtube for their ‘NTV Live’ and ‘NTV Bangla Movie’ channels. Both of the channels are subscribed by more than 100,000 people.
Expressing his feelings about the reward, Head of NTV Online Khandaker Fakaruddin Ahmed said, ‘We created the official YouTube channel of NTV only two years 11 days back. Within the very little span of time, we achieved the highest subscribers count in Bangladesh. People across the world watch news and programmes on our channels—Natok, Entertainment, Telefilm, Movie. We’re feeling great after receiving the reward from YouTube. This time, we got four Silver Play Button Rewards. I hope we will achieve the Gold, Diamond, and Ruby buttons in the future.’
NTV’s digital platform NTV Online started its journey in February 2015. At that moment, the official YouTube channel of NTV was also launched. Soon after the inception, NTV Online prioritized on its video contents. With the involvements of its subscribers, NTV has reached a milestone today. A total of 15 channels of NTV have more than 575,000 subscribers, which is the highest number of subscribers in Bangladesh.
Among the 15 channels, NTV Natok has become more popular owing to its dramas and telefilms. More than 173,000 subscribers follow the channel.
Recently, NTV Entertainment channel has also crossed around 109,000 subscribers.
YouTube is one of the most popular websites in Bangladesh. The web traffic data supply organization Alexa ranked YouTube as the top of their ranking in 2016.

Available content includes video clips, TV show clips, music videos, short and documentary films, audio recordings, movie trailers and other content such as video blogging, short original videos, and educational videos.
