A man allegedly killed his seven-month-old son by flinging him into a tube-well at Hawalbhangi village of Shyamnagar upazila in Satkhira on Monday.

Officer-in-charge of Shyamnagar Police Station Syed Abdul Mannan said Abdul Kader, a resident of Atulia village in the upazila, dashed his son against the tube-well twice at his father-in-law’s house at Hawalbhangi around 2:00pm when no one was at the house, reports the UNB.

Later, family members rescued the baby boy and took him to Shyamnagar upazila health complex where doctors referred him to Satkhira Sadar Hospital.

He succumbed to his injuries on the way to Sadar Hospital, said Shakir Hossain, a deputy assistant community medical officer of the health complex.

Kader used to lose his mental balance and behave violently sometimes, the OC said quoting locals, adding that they arrested him around 8:00pm.
