Dhaka: Four activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Dhaka University ( DU) unit were arrested on Tuesday night as they allegedly assaulted  two journalists on the campus.

The arrestees are deputy secretary of DU BCL Bijoy Ekattor Hall unit Ahmed Faisal Farshi, and three activists Anwarul Kabir, Tofail Hossain and Ashraful Islam Sakib.

On Tuesday night, they allegedly assaulted bdnews24.com staff reporter and a former student of the University Masum Billah and a female reporter of Channel 24 in front of the Arts Building on the campus.

Proctor Golam Rabbani said the proctorial body instantly handed over the BCL men to Shahbagh police.
