Dhaka: Amid outcry over the ‘assaults’ of a central bank official and a DSCC employee by police, a woman lodged a complaint with a tribunal against five policemen for harassing her sexually.
The five policemen are: Jatrabari police officer-in-charge Abani Shankar, sub-inspectors Jashim and Zaman, constable Debashish and Abdul Kader, sub-inspector of Mugda police.
The woman lodged the complaint with the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal in Dhaka on Wednesday, according to a UNB report.
After recording partial statements of the victim, Judge Shafiul Azam of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal fixed Thursday to record the rest of the statement of the victim.
According to the complaint, Mugda police SI Abdul Kader’s daughter and the complainant’s brother Imran Hossain got married recently which Kader could not accept.
Kader filed a case against Imran and his family members under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
