The High Court on Monday issued a rule asking the authorities concerned to explain why ‘Joy Bangla’ should not be declared as the national slogan. 

The HC bench of Justice Kazi Rezaul haque and Mahmudullah issued the rule following a writ petition filed by Supreme Court lawyer Dr Bashir Ahmed, reports the UNB.

Cabinet Secretary, Law Secretary and Education Secretary were made respondents to the rule.

Advocate Dr Bashir said the court will send the copy of the rule to the respondents while Sunday has been fixed for the next hearing.
