Google Bangladesh announces top results, see what was trending in 2017

Whom or what did you search most in Google in 2017? The Google Search Trend shows the most sought after person in Bangladesh was model-actress Sabila Nur.  

The trends.google.com shows lists of the most trending ‘Searches’, ‘People’ and ‘News’ both globally and locally.

In the ‘People’ section Sabila Nur tops the list of ten most searched person of the year. US-based model and porn-star Mia Khalifa is in the second position, cricketer Taskin Ahmed is in fourth position. The rest are as follows: Actors Shakib Khan, Mosarof Korim, beauty peagent contestant Jannatul Nayeem Evril, cricketer Masrafe Bin Mortaza, YouTouber Tawhid Afridi, actress Shabnam Bubly and musician Atif Aslam.  

In the ‘Searches’ section the most searched were 1) Teer, 2) Jagga Jasoos, 3) Dangal, 4) IPL,
5) SSC result, 6) Munna Michael, 7) Half Girlfriend, 8) WWE Extreme Rules, 9) Raabta and
10) BPL.

In the ‘News’ section, most searched topics were 1) Shivatri assault, 2) JSC questions, 3) Rohingya, 4) Argentina submarine, 5) Bangladeshi sex offenders, 6) Ekti Bari Ekti Khamar, 7) Miss World Bangladesh, 8) Durga Puja, 9) Chikungunya and 10) Cyclone Mora.

Google’s Year in Search 2017 also reflected the year’s top news moments that captured India’s attention: CBSE results, UP elections, Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Budget featured among the trending news events that witnessed huge interest among Indian users. Indian users were on point with the rest of the world when it came to knowing more about Bitcoin prices or expressing interest about ransomware. Then, of course, there was India’s historic win at the Miss World ceremony, which catapulted Manushi Chhillar to fame.

Among the top ‘What is’ queries this year, GST, Bitcoin, Jallikattu and BS3 vehicle remained the most trending themes.
