96 Additional SPs promoted to SP

The home ministry on Thursday promoted 96 Additional Superintendents of Police (Adi-SPs) to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP).
According to an official circular of the security division of the home ministry, these officers were upgraded to the grade-5 from grade 6 of the government pay scale, reports the BSS.
Earlier, the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) of the Home Ministry recommended to the higher authority of the government for their promotion. They would be posted to new places soon, the circular also said.
