Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday urged the youths of the country to build them as the worthy citizens of the country so that the fame that the country has earned during the regime of this government will be continued forever.

‘I will ask the youths to build them, imbued with the spirit of the Liberation War, the spirit of the sacrifice of the tens of thousands of martyrs,’ she said, reports the UNB.

The Prime Minister was speaking at the cultural programme at historical Suhrawardy Udyan organised by Cultural Affairs Ministry to celebrate the 47th Victory Day through video conference from her official residence Ganobhaban.

‘We have to remember all the time that we are the victorious nation, you must not forget this for a second, we never bow down to anyone, we will put our step in the world arena keeping our heads high, this will be our promise for today,’ she said.

Recalling the horrific days of August 15, 1975, Sheikh Hasina said that the defeated anti-liberation force thought that by killing the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members they will be able to distort the history of the country.

‘I congratulate the people of the country, I give them salute as they give us the chance to serve them, for that we got chance to build the country with the spirit of the Liberation War,’ she said.

As a result, she said that the economy of the country moving forward, Bangladesh is treated as the role model of development in the world arena.

‘Bangladesh is now in a respectable position in the world like as what it had got the dignity after the victory in the Liberation War,’ she said.

The Prime Minister said that the dignity that was shattered after the brutal killing of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has been regained nowadays.

‘Now whole world look at the Bangalees, so we have to continue this tradition in the coming days,’ she said.

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq and Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor also spoke at the programme from Ganobhaban through video conference.

After the inaugural speech the Prime Minister talked to some people who gathered at the Suhrawardy Udyan and witnessed the cultural programme for some times.
