Minister Sayedul Hoque laid to rest

Brahmanbaria: Fisheries and Livestock Minister Muhammed Sayedul Hoque, who breathed his last on Saturday, was laid to eternal rest at Purbobhagh village of Nasirnagar in the district on Sunday evening.

He was buried at their family graveyard in Purbobhagh after his third namaz-e-janaza at Purbobhagh High School ground where his relatives and near ones paid tribute to the departed soul.

The first namaz-e-janaza of Sayedul Hoque, also a Liberation War organiser and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s political aide was held at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad at 10:10 am and the second namaz-e-janaza was held at Ashutosh Pilot High School ground around 12 noon.

Before the first janaza, a guard of honour was given to the late minister.

President Md Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Deputy Speaker Md Fazley Rabbi Mia, placed wreaths on the coffin of Sayedul Hoque.

Later, the President, deputy speaker, ministers, lawmakers, senior leaders of Awami League and other political parties, well-wishers, officials and employees of the JS attended his namaz-e-janaza.

Sayedul Hoque, breathed his last at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on Saturday.

Sayedul was made the fisheries and livestock minister after Awami League formed the government in 2014.

He was also the vice-president of Brahmanbaria College Students’ Union (1965- 1966) and he actively took part in the Liberation War.
