Barisal: A Junior School Certificate (JSC) examinee who was beaten by his classmate following a brawl over a cricket match in Fal Patti area of the city died in Dhaka Medical College and Hospital early Saturday.

The deceased is Abir Das, son of Joy Das and a student of Asmat Ali Khan Institute of the city.

Victim’s father Joy Das said that Abir locked into an altercation with Miraz during the cricket match on Friday noon.

At one stage, Miraz hit on Abir’s head with his cricket bat, leaving him critically injured.

Abir was taken to Barisal Sher-e Bangla Medical College and Hospital. As his condition deteriorated he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
