Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday congratulated Bangladesh’s girls’ soccer team on winning the title of the inaugural edition of the SAFF Under-15 Women’s Championship.

They became unbeaten champions in the tournament defeating India by 1-0 goal in the final at Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city earlier in the day, reports the UNB.

In a congratulatory message, the Prime Minister greeted all the players, coach and officials of the girls’ football team for becoming unbeaten champion in the SAFF Under-15 Women’s Championship.

‘The whole nation is proud of seeing the team spirit of our players and their outstanding performance,’ she said.

Sheikh Hasina hoped that the winning spree of the girls’ soccer team will continue in the future.
