Dhaka: ‘People do not want violent student politics,’ said Public Administration Minister Syed Ashraful Islam, also the General Secretary of ruling Awami League.

Addressing a discussion organised by Dhaka North City Bangaldesh Chhatra League, Syed Ashraf on Sunday said, ‘Exams become regular. Classes are going on. Nothing is hampering our education. We want this. We achieved this for the government led by Jananetri [people’s leader] Sheikh Hasina, and brothers and sisters of Chhatra League. You all should play a strong role to ensure that no body will culminate our educational environment.’

Addressing the leaders and activists of Chhatra League, Ashraf said: ‘There is no session jam, no violence. I think you will keep this environment unhurt. Other students’ organisations will also assist you in this regard, I believe.’

BCL organised the discussion marking the organisation’s founding anniversary and distribution of the autobiography of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding president of Bangladesh, at Farmgate in Dhaka.
