Faridpur: A young man and his wife were killed as a truck hit their motorcycle at Parikkhatapur on Dhaka-Khulna highway in Madhukhali upazila on Sunday.

The deceased are Khorshed Mondal, about 35 years old, son of Alam Mondal of Baidyanathpur village in Alamdanga upazila of Chuadanga, and his wife Tania Begum, about 30 years old.

Officer-in-charge of Madhukhali Police Station Md Mizanur Rahman said the truck crashed into the bike in the evening while the couple was coming to Faridpur from Chuadanga.

The accident left them severely injured.

The duo was taken to Madhukhali Upazila Health Complex where they succumbed to their injuries later.
