Kishoreganj: A man allegedly stabbed his mother to death at Doriakandi village under Bajitpur upazila in Kishoreganj on Tuesday.

The deceased is Somonto Banu, 70, wife of late Dhonu Mia, a resident of the village, reports UNB.

Police said Jalal Mia, 32, son of Somonto Banu, locked into an altercation with his mother over a family feud on Tuesday noon.

At one stage, Jalal stabbed in his mother’s throat with a sharp weapon, leaving her dead on the spot.

Jalal Mia used to work as a lineman at an Easy-bike stand in the locality. He went into hiding after the incident.

On information, police recovered the body of the deceased and sent it to Sadar Adhunik Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Bajitpur police officer-in-charge Mustafijur Rahman said that they were trying to arrest the alleged killer.
