Prime accused Nur Hossain denied bail

Narayanganj: A Narayanganj court on Wednesday turned down bail petition of the prime accused, Nur Hossain, in the sensational seven-murder case, reports UNB.

Judge of Narayanganj District and Sessions Judge’s Court Sayed Enayet Hossain passed the order after hearing the bail petition.

The court also fixed 8 February for hearing on the charge sheet of the case.

On the day, Nur Hossain filed the petition seeking bail in the case.

Earlier on 27 April, 2014, Narayanganj panel mayor Nazrul Islam, his three associates and driver were abducted by miscreants from Fatullah area of Narayanganj.

At the same time, senior lawyer Chandan Kumar Sarker of the District Judge’s Court and his driver were also abducted on their way to capital Dhaka.

Three days into their abduction, the bodies of six people, including those of Nazrul and Chandan Kumar, were recovered from the Shitalakhya River on 30 April.

Besides, the following day, the body of Jahangir, car driver of Nazrul Islam, was recovered from the river.
