Law to be amended to try Jamaat: law minister
Dhaka: The government is going to amend the existing International Crimes (Tribunals) Act 1973 with a view to bringing all organisations and political parties involved with the killing, crimes against humanity and war crimes under trial, said Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq on Thursday.
He said the government has legal bindings to amend the law as the High Court has instruction in this regard. The draft will be placed in cabinet by February, the minister added while addressing a press briefing in his Office in Secretariat office in Dhaka.
Before the briefing, Ekatturer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Commitee met the minister and placed a charter of 16 demands.
The committee delegate was led by it’s acting president Shahriar Kabir and member Muntasir Mamun.
