Khaleda Zia wants to come to power like Zia, says aviation minister

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal on Saturday said BNP chairperson Khaleda wants to come to power like her husband Ziaur Rahman as she doesn’t believe in democracy.
‘No conspiracy will work anymore. The next election will be held under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,’ he said while addressing a rally on the premise of Bhabaniganj Degree College in Lakshmipur, reports the UNB.
Terming Khaleda Zia as a leader of ‘militancy and violence,’ the new minister said BNP did not join the 2014 parliamentary elections and created anarchy by resorting to killing and arson across the country. Now the party wants to participate in the next general election to be held in December next, he added.
‘BNP chairperson does not believe in democracy. She wants to come to power like her husband Ziaur Rahman,’ he said.
Earlier the Minister laid the foundation stone of ICT Academy Bhaban of the college, which will be built at cost of some Tk three crore by the Education Engineering Department.
