Five key state persons in a sudden meeting

Dhaka: The four top state officials suddenly met President Abdul Hamid for a long time at Bangabhaban on Thursday night. The meeting was ended at about 10:30pm starting in the evening.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq and Attorney General Mahbubey Alam took part in the sudden meeting.
Law Minister Anisul Huq told NTV Online, ‘It was a supper. The president invited us and we have taken part in it.’
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina entered into Bangabhaban on Thursday evening. The law minister and the attorney general went there before the premier. Later Prime Minister’s motorcade was seen to come out from Bangabhaban at about 10:30pm and other persons came out from there soon after the prime minister’s departure.
In reply to a question on the meeting, the law minister said, ‘If the important persons meet together such a place, some important talks also exchange among them.’ The minister refused to share more than that.
On the occasion of the first anniversary of his taking office, Chief Justice SK Sinha in a message said some judges make unusual delays in writing verdicts while others continue with the job even long after their retirement, which goes against the law and the constitution.
The chief justice's remark on writing verdicts after retirement creates widespread discussion and criticism. Lawmakers in the parliament session also criticised the CJ for his comment. The meeting was held in the circumstances.
