‘Pharma sector an area of high growth for BD, India’

Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Harsh Vardhan Shringla has said the pharmaceuticals sector represents an area of ‘high growth’ for both Bangladesh and India, reported UNB.
He made the remark while addressing a MoU signing ceremony on the sidelines of the 8th Asia Pharma Expo at the Basundhara International Convention City on Thursday, said a press release on Friday.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industries (BAPI) and the Indian Pharmaceutical Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (IPMMA) was signed for boosting cooperation in the pharmaceutical sectors of the two countries.
President of IPMMA Mahendra Mehta and the Secretary General of BAPI Shafiuzzaman signed the MoU from their respective sides in presence of the High Commissioner of India Harsh Vardhan Shringla.
Speaking on the occasion, the High Commissioner congratulated the two associations and encouraged them to fully exploit the complementarities and linkages existing between India and Bangladesh to the fullest potential.
Mahendra Mehta, Shafiuzzaman and Paresh Jhumruwala also spoke on the occasion.
