Faridpur: At least five people, including an Indian citizen, were killed and 22 others were injured in separate road accidents in the district on Tuesday morning.

Senior Station Master of Faridpur Fire Service Mohammad Saifuzzaman said a bus of ‘Eagle Paribahan’ coming from Kolkata plunged into a roadside ditch as its driver lost control over the wheels.

The road crash killed two people on the spot and injured 22 others, he said.

Among the injured, Indian citizen Sushanta Manda, a resident of Barasha in India, died on the way to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital.

Meanwhile, officer-in-charge of Bhanga Highway Police Md Ezazuddin said a truck hit another brick-laden truck which was parked in Pulia Bazar area of Bhanga on Dhaka-Mawa-Khulna Highway around 9:00am, killing two people on the spot.

The deceased are  Milon Molla, in his twenties, and Chan Mia, in his thirties, both are the residents of Shibchar in Madaripur.
