Removing minister no answer to question leak, says AL lawmaker

Calling Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid a simple man, Awami League MP Shamsul Hoque Chowdhury on Tuesday defended the minister as he faces huge criticisms for his ‘failure’ to prevent the repeated incidents of question paper leak.
If another person is made the Education Minister removing him, it can’t be ensured that question papers will not be leaked anymore, the lawmaker elected from Chittagong-12 constituency told Parliament participating in the general discussion on thanksgiving motion over the President’s speech, reports the UNB.
‘What can he alone do? Launch an investigation against those who are working under the minister…. He is a simple man,’ he said.
The remarks came a day after Jatiya Party lawmaker Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu on Monday in the House demanded resignation of the education minister for his recent remarks over bribe and failure to check question paper leaks.
Noting that the demand is being raised frequently for his resignation, Shamsul Hoque said if he resigned, another person will be made the Education Minister. ‘If another person replaces him, can anyone say that it (leak of question papers) will not happen under him?’ the AL MP said.
