Alleging that the country’s trial system has been turned into a mockery, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Wednesday said she is doubtful  about getting justice tomorrow (Thursday) and asserted that she will not bow down.

‘As the judiciary is not independent, I’m doubtful about getting justice tomorrow (Thursday). I’m telling you [people] that Khaleda Zia was not involved in any corruption or crime, ‘she said referring to the upcoming court verdict in her graft case, reports the UNB.

The Special Court-5 will deliver its verdict on Thursday in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case filed against Khaleda and five others.

The BNP chief came up with the remarks at a press conference at her Gulshan office in the afternoon.

Khaleda Zia further said, ‘There is no justice, no insaf the country. There’s no security of people here. The trial process has been turned into a mockery through interference and politicisation. People want to get rid of the situation. They’re looking at BNP.’

‘I’m ready to face any circumstances. It’s useless to threaten me with jail term.  I won’t bow down and turn back from the struggle aimed at establishing people’s rights. They [govt] want to keep me away from politics using the court. But, I think, they won’t be able score in the empty field this time like in 2014,’ she said.
