Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammad Jabed Patwary on Wednesday said police with professionalism and legal manner will deal all kind of attempt of anarchy created by any individual or any vested group centering the verdict of graft case against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Thursday.

Talking to the reporters at the media center of Police Headquarter in the city he, said ‘Police will restrict any kind of attempt of creating chaos centring the verdict with iron hand and will not tolerate it at any cost.’

To maintain law and order situation and ensure public security, all measures have been taken including deployment of additional law enforcers in Dhaka Metropolitan City and other divisions, district and upazilas across the country, he said.

‘We think that tomorrow the law and order situation will be normal and remain under control. Hope we all will be humble to the country’s law. I want to assure the countrymen that Bangladesh Police is capable of guaranteeing public security’, he added.

Replaying a question over recent massive arrest and detention across the country IGP said ‘Police in recent days performing their duties strongly. All the detainees are listed and wanted criminals.’

A makeshift court is scheduled to deliver its verdict on Thursday in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case filed against Khaleda and five others.
