Faridpur: A 25-year-old intellectually impaired woman was reportedly raped in Brahmanadi village in Bhanga upazila on Wednesday.

Victim’s mother filed a case with Bhanga Police Station accusing Aynal Haque, 42, father of two children and a resident of the village at night, said sub-inspector Shamsul Alam Sumon of the police station.

When the victim went to a nearby field to collect cow dung, the accused violated her, the SI said, quoting the victim’s mother.

As the mother noticed the incident when she went to the field to look for the victim seeing her late, the culprit fled the scene, he added.

‘The victim was sent to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for medical examination while efforts are on to arrest the culprit,’ the SI said.
