Cox’s Bazar: Police arrested a top human trafficker from Nayarpara in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar early Sunday.

Teknaf Police Station officer-in-charge Ataur Rahman Khandaker said tipped off, a team of police conducted a raid on the house of Shamsul Alam Markin, 60, in the area and arrested him at about 2:00am.

The OC also said court issued seven arrest warrants against him.

Shamsul’s name is on three lists of human traffickers, drug and arms smugglers prepared by the Home Ministry, the OC added.
