Naogaon: At least two workers were killed and two others injured as the roof of an under-construction petrol pump collapsed on them at Gabtali of Niamatpur upazila on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Sujan Hossain, 25, of Rajabari village in Gomostapur upazila of Chapainawabganj, and Anisur Rahman, 40, of Gabtali village.

Officer-in-charge of Niamatpur Police Station Rafiqul Islam Khan said a portion of the roof of under-construction ‘Messrs Sonar Filling Station’ came down crashing and fell on a group of workers at noon, leaving two of them dead on the spot and two others injured.

The injured were taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

The bodies were sent to Naogaon General Hospital for autopsy.
