Dhaka: A Dhaka court on Monday extended the bail of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in Zia Charitable Trust graft case until March 13.

Judge Mohammad Akhteruzzaman of the Special Judge Court-5 passed the order and fixed March 13, 14 for placing arguments.

On February 1 last, the court fixed February 25, 26 for the hearing of the case against Khaleda Zia and three other accused.

On February 8 last, Dhaka Special Court-5 convicted former Prime Minister and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and sentenced her to five years’ imprisonment in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.

On August 8, 2011, the ACC filed the Zia Charitable Trust graft case with Tejgaon Police Station accusing four people, including Khaleda Zia, of abusing power in raising funds for the trust from unknown sources.
