6 Myanmar nationals held with 3 lakh Yaba in Cox’s Bazar
Cox’s Bazar: Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard seized 300,000 pieces yaba pills and arrested six Myanmar nationals from the south eastern side of Chhera Dwip near Saint Martin’s Island of Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday afternoon.
Sources at the Coast Guard headquarters said tipped off, an operational team of Coast Guard conducted a drive in the Bay of Bengal around1:10 pm and challenged a fishing boat.
The law enforcers recovered 3 lakh Yaba tablets worth around Tk 15 crore searching the fishing boat. They detained six Myanmar nationals from the boat.
With the recovery of the yaba pills, the number of seized Yaba tablets rose to 6.20 lakh within a week, said Lt Commander Abdullah Al Maruuf, Assistant Director (Intelligence) of the Coast Guard Headquarters.
