At least three salt factories were gutted in a fire that broke out at Majhirghat in Sadarghat area in Chittagong on Friday morning.

The fire originated at a salt factory caused by power disruption around 10:00am and soon engulfed adjacent factories, reports the UNB. 

On information, six units of fire fighters from Nandankanon and Agrabad Fire stations rushed to the spot and doused the fire around 12:00pm, said Jasim Uddin, deputy assistant director of Agrabad Fire Service.

He said fire damaged three salt factories and the estimated loss would be around Tk 20 lakh.
