Dhaka: The final registration process of the pilgrims who will perform Hajj this year under private management will begin on Tuesday.

M Shahadat Hossain, general secretary of Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (Haab), announced the schedule at a press briefing on Monday.

However, the ending date would be announced later, he added, reports the UNB.

The lowest package has been fixed at Tk 3,32,868, said Haab general secretary.

For the purpose of sacrificial animal, an additional sum of Tk 11,000 will be charged.

Those who performed Hajj in 2015, 2016 and 2017 as well as those who got Saudi visas last year but did not perform Hajj are asked to submit 2,100 Saudi Riyals (Tk 46,935), if they want to perform Hajj this time.

The aspiring Hajjis will have to pay the entire money to the Hajj agencies by April 15 this year.

On February 26, the cabinet approved the draft Hajj Package, 2018.

Earlier on February 22, the ministry published a list of serial numbers of Hajj pilgrims, who will be able to enroll in the final Hajj registration this year.

The Hajj pilgrims have also been asked to submit scanned copies of passports during the e-Hajj registration process, it added.

According to the Hajj agreement with Saudi Arabia, a total of 127,198 pilgrims from Bangladesh will be able to perform Hajj this year. Of them, 7,198 will perform Hajj under the government management and 120,000 under private management.

The Hajj is likely to be held on August 21 this year subject to the moon sighting.
