Dhaka: A minor girl who sustained burn injuries in a fire at a house in the city’s Kalyanpur area died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital in Dhaka on Thursday.

The deceased is 11-month-old Afrida Akhter Fatema, daughter of Mohmmad Abdul Malek.

Four members M Abdul Malek, in his thirties, his wife Rina Begum, around 30 years old, their daughter Afrida Akhter Fatema and Rina’s sister Arju Begum, in his twenties, suffered burn injuries in the fire incident on Wednesday night.

Later, the injured were admitted to the Burn Unit of DMCH where Afrida, who sustained 47 percent burn injuries, succumbed to her injuries around 1:30pm, said Dr Shirin Yeasmin of the burn unit.
