Abducted banker rescued in Tangail
Tangail: Police rescued a suspended senior bank official, who was abducted from Rajshahi on January 21, 16, from Nasir Glass Industries area on Dhaka-Tangail highway in Mirzapur upazila on Tuesday night.
A patrol team of Mirzapur Police Station found ARM Akhtaruzzaman Kochi, 50, a suspended senior assistant vice president of Exim Bank’s Bogra branch and a resident of Shiruil Mothpukur in Boalia upazila of Rajshahi district, tied up with rope in the area around 9.30pm.
Police handed him over to his family members early Wednesday, said officer-in-charge of the police station Mohammad Mainuddin.
Earlier on January 21, a group of miscreants abducted Akhtaruzzaman from New Market area in Rajshahi city on his way to a tea stall.
The victim’s father Afsaruddin filed a case with Boalia Police Station in this connection.
