Dhaka: Ruling out the possibility of any financial crunch for small projects due to implementation of gigantic projects like Padma Multipurpose Bridge, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday said.

“So, there’ll be no [adverse] impact on other projects,” she said.

The Prime Minister said this while responding to a supplementary question from Pir Fazlur Rahman during PM’s question-answer session in Parliament.

About the financial capability the country achieved during the Awami League government in the last seven years, Sheikh Hasina said, ‘Inshah Allah, we’ll take Bangladesh forward.’

Replying to another supplementary question from ruling party chief whip ASM Feroz, the Prime Minister said the government has already turned Dhaka-Chittagong Highway into four-lane one and it will be made six-lane one in the future. ‘We have that plan.’

The Leader of the House mentioned that the government has also turned Dhaka-Mymensing Highway into four-lane one, while Dhaka-Sylhet Highway to be made four-lane one up to Tamabil.

‘We’ll also consider making the Dhaka-Barisal Highway four-lane one in the future,’ she said.
