Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returned home from Singapore on Tuesday evening cutting short her four-day official visit by a day following the crash of a Bangladeshi plane in Nepal.

After the plane crash, the Prime Minister talked to Nepalese Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli over telephone from Singapore to enquire about the incident. She said Bangladesh is ready to provide the Nepalese government with necessary assistance in the rescue operation and treatment of the victims of the aircraft crash.

During her stay in Singapore, the Prime Minister on Monday paid a courtesy call first female Muslim President of Singapore Halimah Yacob, held a meeting with Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong, and joined a luncheon hosted by Lee Hsien Loong.

She also visited the Port of Singapore, one of the busiest seaports in the world, on Monday.

On Tuesday, the Prime Minister unveiled an orchid named after her at National Orchid Garden of Singapore Botanical Garden.
