US-Bangla plane crash: State mourning observed
Dhaka: The nation observed a one-day state mourning on Thursday with due solemnity in memory of the victims of the US-Bangla plane crash in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The national flag was hoisted half-mast at all government offices, including the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, Bangladesh Secretariat, High Court and educational institutions, across the country.
Meanwhile, special prayers will be offered at all religious institutions and worship places, including mosques, temples, churches and pagodas, throughout the country on Friday.
Earlier on Wednesday, the government declared a one-day state mourning for Thursday in memory of the victims of the plane crash.
The US-Bangla Airlines flight which flew from Dhaka to Kathmandu carrying 67 passengers and four crewmembers, crashed at Tribhuvan International Airport in the capital of Himalayan country of Nepal on Monday, leaving 49 people, including 26 Bangladeshis, dead.
Of the dead, 22 were Nepalese and one is Chinese.
