Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina goes to Tungipara in Gopalganj tomorrow to pay homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the occasion of the 99th birthday of the great leader and the National Children’s Day.

The Prime Minister will fly to Tungipara after placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi Road No 32 in the capital.

On arrival in Tungipara, the ancestral home of the Father of the Nation, in the morning, the Prime Minister will first pay tributes to Bangabandhu by placing a wreath at his mausoleum.

A smartly turned out contingent to be drawn from Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air Force will give an honour guard on the occasion.

Sheikh Hasina will offer Fateha and join a munajat seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Bangabandhu as well as other martyrs of the August 15 carnage.

Being accompanied by the senior leaders of the party, Sheikh Hasina, also the Awami League president, will lay another wreath at the mausoleum of Bangabandhu.

The premier will release a commemorative postage stamp on Sheikh Russel, the youngest son of Bangabandhu, and unveil the cover of a children book titled ‘Amader Chhoto Russel Sona’.

Sheikh Hasina will address a children’s rally, discussion meeting and cultural function and distribute sewing machines among the distressed.

The Prime Minister will open a book fair and visit a painting exhibition of the children titled ‘Amar Bhabnai 7th March’. She will return to Dhaka in the afternoon.
