Dhaka: The identified bodies of Bangladeshi passengers of crashed US-Bangla aircraft will arrive here today from Kathmandu by a cargo aircraft of Bangladesh Air force.

‘One of the air force cargo aircraft carrying the identified bodies of the Bangladeshi nationals is schedule to land at BFF Bangabandhu Base at Kurmitola in the capital at 4:00pm,’ an ISPR spokesperson told BSS.

Seventeen Bangladeshi victims of the crash were so far identified as Bangladesh Embassy in Nepal released a list containing the names on Saturday.

‘Till Saturday, 17 bodies were identified and the process of identification is going on. We are working closely with Nepalese authorities and Bangladesh mission in Nepal to bring back the bodies in shortest possible time,’ US-Bangla officials said.

At least 49 people, including 26 Bangladeshi nationals, were killed as the US-Bangla Airlines aircraft crashed and burst into flames at the Nepalese capital on Monday last.

Meanwhile, one more Bangladeshi survivors of the plane crash arrived here today among the 10 injured Bangladeshi passengers. Injured Md Shahin Bepari was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) directly by an ambulance from the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport while he reached there on boarding a Biman Bangladesh Airlines at afternoon.

One of the critically Bangladeshi passengers Emrana Kabir Hash was sent to Singapore from Kathmandu last night for better treatment, US-Bangla General Manager Kamrul Islam said.

Earlier on Wednesday, Rezwanul Haque, another severely-burnt passenger of crashed aircraft, was also sent to Singapore for better treatment.

In last three days, five survivors, Shahreen Ahmed, Mehedi Hasan, Saiyada Kamrunnahar Shwarna, Almun Nahar Annie and Sheikh Rashed Rubayet arrived here and were admitted to burn and plastic surgery unit of DMCH.

Rest of the two injured Bangladeshi passengers - Eakub Ali and Md Kabir Hossain - are being treated in Nepal, official sources said.

Eakub Ali is set to return Dhaka tomorrow while the Bangladesh Mission in Nepal is trying to transfer MD Kabir Hossain to New Delhi for better treatment, the source also said.
