BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Wednesday alleged that the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is behaving like a ‘blind bat’ as it has turned into an ‘institution of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’.

‘The ACC is acting like a bat which becomes blind at night. It’s become an own organisation of Sheikh Hasina which has been given the responsibility only to chase BNP leaders and activists,’ he said, reports the UNB.

The BNP leader came up with the allegation while speaking at a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan central office.

He also said the ACC has also now turned into a weapon to mentally harass and repress BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia.

Rizvi said the ACC has no action against those ruling party men plundering public money and indulging in corruption as it remains busy harassing BNP leaders.

He also alleged that the ACC Chairman is now hyperactive regarding BNP chairperson’s corruption case as he is working with a political agenda of a party.

The BNP leader said the government is playing a game to prolong their chairperson’s stay in jail by ‘blocking her bail’.

Referring to Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader’s comment that the government did not interfere in staying Khaleda’s bail, Rizvi sad his unnecessary remark on the issue has exposed that the government had a hand in it.

‘They (govt) are not only influencing the court, but also directly interfering in it. How could the Attorney General say Khaleda Zia won’t be able to come out of jail?’ he questioned.
