Rajshahi: Amid concern over the attack on Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) teacher Professoressor Zafar Iqbal, the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police deployed police personnel for 12 teachers of Rajshahi University to ensure their security.

RMP commissioner Mahbubur Rahman said the decision for providing security to the teachers has been taken as some of them received threats from different militant organisations.

The 12 teachers are noted writer and former teacher of RU Hasan Azizul Haque, Professoressor Abul Kashem, Assistant Professoressor Golam Sarwar, Professoressor Hasan Imam, Professoressor Mohammad Mizanuddin, Professor Moloy Kumar Bhoumik, Professor SM Abu Bakar, Professor Sarker Sujit Kumar, Professor Sajedequl Arefin Matin, Professor Hasibul Alam, Assistant Professor Salim Reza Newton and Amirul Islam Kanak.

Zafar Iqbal came under knife attack on the campus of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) on March 3.
