Dhaka: A man was killed allegedly by his cousin over land-related dispute at Kiringi area in Nawabganj upazila in the city on Friday evening.

The deceased is Babul Mandal, 45, son of Lal Mia Mandal of Balukhjondo village in the same upazila.

Witnesses said Babul locked into an altercation with his cousins at around 5.30pm following a long-standing enmity over of a piece of ancestral land.

At one stage, Babul’s cousins hit him with a stick, leaving him severely injured.

Later, the injured were rushed to Nawabganj Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.

Officer-in-charge of Nawabganj Police Station Mostafa Kamal said the body was sent to Salimullah Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy.
