Shrimp farmer stabbed dead in Bagerhat

Bagerhat: Miscreants stabbed a shrimp farmer to death and looted fish after poisoning them to death in his shrimp enclosure at Banshbaria village in Chitalmari upazila on early Friday.
The deceased is Satyen Malik, 55, son of Ananta Malik of the village, reports UNB.
A group of miscreants swooped on Satyen’s shrimp enclosure in the dead of night in a bid to loot shrimp while he was on guard there and stabbed him to death, said Rezaul Karim, officer-in-charge of Chitalmari Police Station.
Later the miscreants spread poison in his shrimp enclosure and looted shrimp from there.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to sadar hospital morgue for an autopsy in the morning.
The body bore several injury marks, said the OC.
A case was filed in this connection.
