Magura: A female school teacher was killed in a road accident at Eatkhola on Magura-Jhenidah road in Shalikha upazila on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Mahmuda Khatun, 38, wife of Shuva Rahman, a resident of Talkari village of the upazila. Mahmuda was a teacher of Naliardangi Government Primary School.

Officer-in-charge of Magura Police Station Ajmal Poda said Mahmuda was returning to her house from College Para in Magura town in a battery-run auto rickshaw.

At one stage, her saree got tangled with one of the wheels of the auto-rickshaw and she fell down that left her critically injured.

She was whisked off to Magura Sadar Hospital where doctors declared her dead.
