2 injured in BCL infighting in Sylhet
Sylhet: Two activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) were injured in a factional clash at Madan Mohan College in Sylhet on Saturday afternoon.
The injured are Satyajit Das, 28, a master’s student and Rakin Ahmed, 22, also a student of the college.
Witnesses said the supporters of former BCL leader Bidhan Shaha stabbed Rakin, a supporter of local BCL leader Abdul Hannan, with a knife on the college campus around 1:00pm over a trifling matter.
During the assault, BCL activists of Rakin’s group also stabbed Satyajit.
The injured were admitted MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
In-charge of Lamabazar police camp sub-inspector Benu Chandra Das said both the injured are activists of BCL.
Additional policemen have been deployed on the campus after the clash.
