Feni: Claiming that BNP is a ‘self-confessed’ corrupt party, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Friday said the party has become synonymous with graft.

‘They changed the section 7 of the party constitution at night under cover of darkness as they’re corrupt,’ he said while talking to reporters at Fatehpur level-crossing here after inspecting work on a railway overpass on Dhaka-Chhattagram highway.

Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said the court sent BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia to jail and the court will decide about her release. ‘The government has nothing to do with it.’

He also said gun is the source of BNP’s power but Awami League’s source of power is the soil and people of Bangladesh. ‘Awami League formed the government with people’s mandate.’
