2 killed in separate road crashes

Dhaka: A minor boy and a school girl were killed in separate road crashes in Hatirjheel of the Dhaka city and Sylhet Sadar upazila on Saturday.
In Dhaka, A minor boy was killed as a speedy Pajero Jeep hit him on the road of Hatirjheel on Saturday.
The ill-fitted boy was Md Raihan, 7, a class I student of Advance New Model School of Rampura area.
Son of Md Liton, a push pushcart driver, Raihan had been living with his parents at a rented residence at Ulan Road of Rampura.
The incident took place at about 3:30pm when Raihan went to the street of Hatirhjeel near his residence. A speedy jeep hit him and fled from the scene, said sources at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) quoting the victim’s family members.
Raihan was rushed to a local hospital, from where he was shifted to DMCH where he succumbed to his injuries at at about 6:00pm.
In Sylhet: A schoolgirl was crashed under the wheels of a speeding bus on Sylhet-Sunumganj Highway at Gopal village in Sylhet Sadar upazila on Saturday morning.
Jalabad Police officer-in charge Aktar Hossain said a Sylhet-bound bus from Sunamganj hit Jhorna Aktar, 6, a class I student of Gopal Government Primary School and daughter of Nur Ali of the village, around 10am, leaving her dead on the spot.
Immediately after the accident, locals vandalised the bus. However, the driver and the helper fled from the scene. Police recovered the body.
