Dhaka: A Dhaka court on Sunday sent land minister Shamsur Rahman Sherif's personal secretary Kutub Uddin Ahmed to jail in a case filed for corruption, reports UNB.

Dhaka metropolitan magistrate AKM Moinuddin Siddique handed down the order after investigation officer of the case Mirza Zahidul Alam, deputy director of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), produced him before the court.

Earlier in the day, the ACC arrested Kutub Uddin Ahmed from Segunbagicha area in the city at noon and a case was filed against him with Gulshan Police Station, said ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee.

According to the case statement, Kutub Uddin illegally allotted a 10-katha plot in Gulshan in the names of some people, including his father-in-law and mother in law.
