Mymensingh: A young man was shot dead and four others suffered bullet wounds during a clash between two groups of people at Digharkanda of Sadar upazila in Mymensingh on Saturday night.

The deceased is Shimul, a resident of the area, reported UNB.

Kotwali police officer-in-charge Quamrul Islam said Bhutto, son of Kadu chairman, and his cousin Ronny had long been at loggerheads over a contract work of Titas Gas office.

As a sequel to the dispute, the two groups locked into a clash at about 10:00pm, leaving five people injured with bullets.

The injured were taken to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital (MMCH) where Shimul succumbed to his injuries.
