Cambrian willing to bear Rajib's brothers’ educational expenses

Dhaka: BSB-Cambrian Education Group has expressed its interest to bear all educational expenses of the two younger brothers of Govt Titumir College student Rajib Hossain, who died following a tragic road accident in Dhaka, up to the higher secondary level.
Rajib, who lost his right hand after it got stuck between two buses at Banglamotor in the city on April 3, breathed his last at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Tuesday.
He left behind his two younger brothers — Mehedi Hasan and Abdullah Hasan. Mehedi has been studying at Class VII while Abdullah at Class-VI at Quran-e-Hafez Tamirul Millat Madrasah.
Rajib used to bear the educational expenses of his two parentless younger brothers doing a part-time job as a computer operator as well as teaching students.
Lion MK Bashar, chairman of the BSB-Cambrian Education Group, told UNB that they have already contacted Rajib’s relatives and expressed their interest to bear his two younger brothers’ educational expenses.
‘We’ll bear all educational expenses, including hostel, up to the higher secondary level. They can continue their study either at Cambrian College up to HSC or Quran-e-Hafez Tamirul Millat Madrasah up to Alim,’ he said.
Rajib’s aunt Jahanara Begum and uncle Jahidul Islam informed BSB-Cambrian Group that they will give their decision after they return to Dhaka from Patuakhali, said Anisur Rahman Anis, a coordinator of the education group.
On April 3, Rajib Hasan was going to attend his classes by a double-decker bus of BRTC standing on the rear gate dangling his right hand outside as the bus was overcrowded.
When the bus got stranded at the Sonargaon crossing near Panthakunja park, a ‘Sajan Paribahan’ bus tried to make its way through the narrow space in between the BRTC bus and the footpath. However, Rajib’s right hand was pressed in between the two buses and got severed from the elbow.
Being rescued, the victim was first taken to nearby MH Samorita Hospital at Panthapath and later he was shifted to the DMCH where he succumbed to his injuries.
